Basically, better stats. Nolan has a lot of cool feats and way more experience, but he also doesn't really have anything tricky in his arsenal. Viltrumites are basically giant stats blocks. If they don't have the stat advantages, then there isn't really much they can do. Meanwhile, Bardock theoretically has better stats and could potentially take that further with his transformations. Bardock also has the range advantage with his ki blasts and his scouter would let him detect any sneak attacks.

The more I think about it Bardock should take it, just for scaling shenanigans. Especially if super saiyan is taken into account, that means the difference between Base Bardock being half as strong as Saiyan Saga Vegeta, Oozaru Bardock being twice as strong as the average Ginyu/just under Captain Ginyu, and Super Saiyan Bardock being effectively equal to First Form Frieza in power.

I think Bardock only has one transformation in this depiction: Oozaru.

Bardock's likely going to be an Oozaru in this fight according to the preview, but Nolan can always rip off/slice through his tail to turn it off, and destroy the moon or the Power Ball (if Bardock even has that move) to prevent it from reoccurring.

If Bardock has Super Saiyan in this fight yeah, it's not really a fight anymore.

Spirit's vote puts Omni Man at 4 votes and leaves Bardock with a 4-point lead.

As I said before, I’m pretty sure they’re utilizing Super Saiyan Bardock, which I both understand and am somewhat sad about since Oozaru is a cooler way to do the climax for me. Although, I’m sure it’ll still be cool.

By comparison, Omni-man doesn’t get any cool transformations (recently revealed Animality aside), so animation wise he’ll just be ramping things up over time on his own.

Side Tangent: Fatalities are used for feats and stuff, but are Animalities “canon”? Can they be used for Mortal Kombat characters? I mean it’s not like any character is gonna have their match decided by “They can turn into a preying mantis, which was the exact edge they needed to win”, and it’d probably be super awkward to work into the animation, but it’d be cool to see as a one time gag.

I don't think they are canon. The sequel movie in the 90s had a plot point about Liu Kang needing to learn his animality, and his fight with Shao Kahn did turn into an animality fight.

But that's about it. It's a fun but non-canon ability, just like Babality are.

Animality would only work if we actually see it in the actual story or if it represented and clear that they can actually do it.

The closest we've ever seen characters come close are Lui Kang (turning into a dragon) and Shang Tsung (Who can turn into snakes)

Of course, it really doesn't matter as much, as it really doesn't boost their powers or anything.

I'm pretty sure it'd be a huge buff for Ghostface and Peacemaker at least

Fatalities are usually treated as part of the characters' kit by Death Battle, but even I think they mean that in terms of stuff that's clearly in line with what we see the characters do elsewhere. Liu Kang would be given the ability to spontaneously generate arcade cabinets out of thin air, for instance.

The rest of the story puts shapeshifting as a very rare ability, so animalities probably wouldn't be considered generally speaking.

If Animalities would be considered, they would also consider Babalities and if the kombatant is willing to kill babies.

I think this was discussed in this thread long ago - fighting game characters get evaluated on the basis of what they can do in gameplay yes? Meaning if Mileena can fight Liu Kang nearly anyone can, or how Sakura Kasugano can canonically fight and somehow defeat E Honda, or how anybody in Street Fighter or MK scales to each other?

If that is the case then wouldn't the gameplay mechanic of turning into an animal count?

If not then shouldn't we also disregard the more outlandish fatalities and the amount of damage each MK character can endure?

If Cyrax gets on Death Battle will he/she have earth-shattering stomach bombs?

If allowed, I will gut you with an honest-to-god smile on my face, and then proceed to paint the home I build with your body with your very blood.

Just for that reference I will consider going Team Bardock.
